Certain animals are in a family of the same animal. Like coyotes, wolves, dogs, etc. I am not pretending to be something I am not here so if science classifies something different, then I'll leave that classification to the them.

Horses can breed with donkeys and zebras since they are in the same family but will be sterile. Not sure about the zebras though. Thus a new kind, species what have you can not just spontaneously pop up right? Kinda like those weeds that skipped a generation of mutations to go back to the orginal code that I added the link to the other day.

If your trying to make a point why don't you just make it instead of trying to test my knowledge of how scientists classify them?

Do you really need a scientist to tell you that? The natives of Peru had more sense.

DNA may have similarities between different living species since it is the code of all life. That does not mean that said living thing is so volatile as to create new DNA code out of nowhere and change into another species when the replicating code can only allow for so much varience/mutation. The fruit flys show numerous mutations, most all of them flaws. Some just in color or wing shape(neutral). It is still 100% fruitfly.

After looking at all the evidence over the years of the supposed ancestors of humans, first of all I would expect to see missing links. Lucy in my opinion was possibly an immature great ape, but not human. Not all anatomists agree that she could even walk upright as we have been told.

We would see brain size skulls from the small Lucy skull, all the way up to what we have today. We would see transitional progress in all living organisms. Otherwise it would not be evolution would it? It would be spontaneous mutational jump that do not fit in to the theory. Something that incredible taking place would be able to be measured today.

As for your assertion about spontaneous appearance of dna, I would be very interested to hear your sources for that idea because I know that isn't in any text book I have ever read.

That is my point. There is no evidence supporting that amino acids evolved into a single celled living organism into an invertebrate into a vertibrate into a mammal. That system of growth can not be replicated in any way, period. So for evolution to be a viable theory, we would have to expect that the DNA code spontaneously appeared.

Other scientist who proved that could not happen chemically then came up with the organisms from outer space theory which also can not be replicated or proven.

LT it has not been discarded because it is the only viable theory to science, otherwise they will have to look at the possibility of a Creator creating the DNA code for all living things that then replicated into like organisms with variences causing minor changes due to environmental impacts. That is not a theory many scientists are willing to accept.

Until there is scientific proof that a single celled organism can evolve into a more complex organism I will remain an unbeliever in evolution. If this is the means that all life came from, there must be evidence. There have been so many errors in scientific theory's in the history of science that it is ignorant to me to accept as fact an unproven theory.

When travelling in Peru it was understood even by the natives that llamas were in the camel family. We'll find out how close when we know if the offspring is sterile or not.

Well it should be doncha think! If evolution has so much evidence that it is a fact, then we should SEE the mechanics of it in everyday life wouldn't we? Instead we have evolutionists spouting off that the Second Law of Thermodynamics and Entropy that is a universal law from the smallest rock to the largest galaxy somehow does not apply to evolution because the earth is a closed system. Meaning what? Meaning that because there is energy from the sun that somehow caused a single celled amoeba to mutate into a more comlex life form with DNA that spontaneously emerged out of nowhere? Sceintists admit now that the Miller experiment was NOT a model of the early earth, and it has not been able to be replicated.

What would count as a transitional species? If there was an animal with some mammalian and some reptilian features, would that count? What about an animal that can almost fly? Or a ring species? What exactly do you think you should expect to see?

I would expect to see a genetic link from fruit flys to...? Or from the completly mapped out human genome with a link from the first mapped human in a tribe from Africa, our oldest known living ancestors with a link to orangatangs or chimps geneticaly. But there is none. When I asked this question to an ex JW biochemist evolutionist he got angry and would not speak to me again. The DNA ends with the genetic Eve. And ends there. Why? Where's the link? We can map them now.

I think that's the heart of the problem. I knew you didn't really understand this stuff but I had no idea the extent of your ignorance. There are no words in that article that you wouldn't find in "Evolution for Dummies" or something similar. If you don't understand the terms used there, then you can't hope to grasp the underlying argument - which is exactly what we find.

Why don't you try reading actual scientific research results instead of getting all your information from a website that is obviously biased like I do. Then again since you obviously are more evolved than I am you don't need to read outside the lines do you?

I seen on Talk Origens that the WT book was listed there and refuted but I have never read it. I have read that fruit flys have been researched for years by evolutionist scientists doing genetic research.

You may not believe this but I used to believe that evolution between species is how life came about. I never stopped believing in a Creator, just in how He did it.

I respect your conclusions that we do not agree on. We see mutations (genetic varient) differently. Do you have evidence of a species mutating into another that a non science major can understand? We can check a persons blood to find out if they are the parents to a child with almost 100% acuracy, surely we can find proof that one species has mutated into another.

On the species interbreeding, if it is the same species even though they are separated by time and land, they will still be the same species. The coyotes that hang out here don't know that they are not supposed to get my German Shepherd pregnant.

I believe in adaptation and natural selection, but not genetic varience that can lead to an entirly new more complex life form. The code...its the code. What came first the chicken or the egg? The code did. Show me proof where DNA code received additional information out of nowhere. How can it mutate into a higher life form if the information for that higher life form doesn't exist? Where is the proof that ANY life form is evolving into a more complex life form. If this is the method of life, there has to be evidence. I'm not talking about genes being rearranged, turned on or off, etc. But new genetic information leading to a higher more complex life form.

my apologies if this has been done to death, but i was just curious how many of you feel that you have been socially crippled as a result of your association with the jws?

granted, this probably affects people who were raised as jws more than those who chose for themselves, but i just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same experience...also, how did you work through it if you were able to?

I went through an awkward stage socially. It took a few years to learn how to relate and care about people. I've been out 15 years now and I am still learning how to put effort into being a friend to someone. How to love unconditionally, and not take things personal.

Has anyone else suffered from social anxiety after leaving? That was intense for me for several years. Now I am a social butterfly, active in the Community with lots of really cool friends. I did have therapy and medication during my transition to freedom.

We may always carry the scars but we do heal.

Well after he spotted me and the time of day I layed out he came by more often and so low I coulda almost spit on his wing.

Between my mom and I, we have quite a bit. All brochures from the 1920s, WTs from 1800s, Studies in Scriptures, all the old books - Comfort for the Jews, and etc.

That is good to know Vanilla. Some people have quite a bit scanned too. The Wt can't buy it all up, if that is who is behind nabbing it on ebay.

My depth of research may not be as deep as a research scientist, and I don't remember details as well as others, does not mean that I am incapable of learning and coming to a conclusion. I came to my conclusions and it has nothing to do with the WT.

Many of you conclude it must be fact since it looks like it probably is.

We are really at the cusp of a revolution in our ability to understand how evolution works at the genetic level. Just give it some time.

I am not convinced. I do not see a natural world where oganisms are in constant fluctuation between species. I see a world full of individual plants and animals that when an error in their genetic code happens, most often you see a negative problem. Common sense says that there would be transitional spcies everywhere! The mighty colecanth once throught extinct and mutated into a trout by now was found alive and well.

Leolai the one link you posted was not in a language that I could understand without weeks of research into what each word means.

OMG scientists have been using fruit flies to study genetics in evolution for over 90 years! And let me make myself CLEAR. I do NOT nor have I read any WT material for 15 years.
